I love old Punk Rock. I grew up listing to it as well as Classical. Odd I know. That's all I really listened to other than listing to Colorado Public Radio and KMSA a local College station my mom always had on. I do like Pop a little. A bit hard not to. Rock of course. Other than Punk being my all time favorite I love listening to Frank Sinatra and them. Show tunes always seem to put a smile on my face. ^_^

I usually get my foreign language kick off of Josh Groban or Il Divo. Gorgeous male vocals. Before I forget, my favorite song on Notre Dame is called "Vivre." Esmeralda is singing about how she doesn't want to be killed the next day because she hasn't loved anyone yet. Some of the lines are beautiful "live for the one you love... love like the day loves the night... live until you die from love..." It sounds better in French. Sad

I've definitely heard the Beatles, but as I have a gazillion genres in my collection, I thought that I'd try for a match with your obscure music. Oh well. Hey, what's the 1.5 albums that you have of Europop/dance?

That sounds wonderful. Shame I don't know French.

hey, you tried, which is better than most people do! The 1.5 albums are "Aquarius" by Aqua, plus a couple songs from their other album ("Aquarium") and the song "Dragostea Din Tei." Also a song called "Computer Dreams." That roughly equals 1.5 albums, I think.

I can't think of any of the Junk artist right now, mainly I listen to them through an Internet station. Though, they're rarely on now. Sad

Old Punk Rock is pretty fun to listen to, I have to admit. I also enjoy the public radio and the college station. Smile Foreign music is always a joy to listen to, even if the majority of it I can't understand.

I like Aqua, and you get points for not refering to Dragoste Din Tei as "the numa numa song." I've never heard Computer Dreams. I have an Eiffel65 album, and that's about all the Europop that I currently own, though I'm getting Aquarius and Aquarium soon. (Eiffel65 brought us "Blue.")

Cool! Yeah, I must've been one of the few people on earth who watched that video just to hear the song. Rolling Eyes So I refer to it my its actual name, not the common name (Much like how I call the song "Vincent" and not "Starry Starry Night"). Computer Dreams is a song by a person who calls herself "Nina the Goddess of Dance." I've listened to some of her other songs, but I don't have a lot of spare cash floating around to buy the album. I need to actually buy Aquarium, as well. Oh, "Blue"? I love that song. I should buy it (accurséd lack of money...).

When I complete my money-tree, I'll send you a seedling. Wink

What period of time would you want to visit if you did indeed have a time machine?

Oh, don't make me choose. Let me think... I'd have to go to the future and become a belter (miner of the asteriod belts). The past is rich and interesting, but that can be studied (and hey, I do want to study part of it). Yeah.

Teela - Yay! I can hardly wait!

Do any of you listen to Ace of Base? I just discovered them, and I'm in love.

(I think that the time machine question deserves its own thread! Very Happy)

Yay!

No, I don't listen to Ace of Base... I'll look into them.

(I'll go make it right now!)

Mmm, music, one of the essences of life. I own CDs of almost any genre. My favorites genres, however, are punk, ska, and prog/symphonic/power metal.

Strangely, my favorite band doesn't fit into any genre - They Might Be Giants. I just saw them for probably the tenth time last weekend.

I thought they were alternative. But maybe they could be obscure. I think that should be a genre.
