I've always been curious about this as I like to dabble in different crafts other than digital cartooning. How many of you have tried different crafts, which are your favourites/least favourite, and what kind of experiences have you had with them?
I've had a go at textiles, plushie-making, sculpture and jewelry-making, and so far my favourite has been jewelry-making It's affordable, not too much equipment needed and you're always on the lookout for exotic beads and new styles. It never gets boring _________________

I've make a few bracelets. Friendship bracelets and such. Earrings. Oh I've been silk screening some shirts as well. ^_^
The shirt he's waring is one of the few I've made. I love how the print came out! ^_^[/list] _________________

Silk work can look so nice *-* My aunt used to make us silk hairbands for birthdays and Christmas. They were lovely. _________________

Doing art graphics as a GCSE and A level plus art as a GCSE I'm well ranged in different types of arty materials and crafts, in the past four years (two years of GCSE and two years of A Level) I've made;
Posters
Adobe Photoshop (computer)
Paint Shop Pro (computer)
Sculpters
Clay
Anything I could get my hands on.
Prints
String prints
Lyielo (sp?) printing
CD covers
Adobe Photoshop (computer)
Paint Shop Pro (computer)
Quilts
Animations
Flash 8 (computer)
T-shirt designs
Adobe Photoshop (computer)
Paint Shop Pro (computer)
Natural life drawings
Water colours/pencils
Poster paint
Oil pastals
Acylic paint
Oil paints
Torn paper
Coloured pencils
Indian ink
Graphite pencils and chalk
Cartoon strips
Adobe Photoshop (computer)
Paint Shop Pro (computer)
Water colours/pencils
Graphics pens
Book cover designs
Adobe Photoshop (computer)
Paint Shop Pro (computer)
Oil pastals
Acylic paint
Water colours/pencils
I hate working with water colours but they are the quickest to work with plus they made my art teacher happy, besides water colours I didn't mind what I created or what materials I used. It was my art teacher who made it hard for me, if I had a pound for each time I said "She sucks all the fun out of art" I'd be bloody rich by now. _________________

*giggle* My mom hates water color. Not her thing. She loves Oil Paints. I wish I had HALF of her talent. If it be painting wise or her etchings. _________________

I've done costume design (Matrix Twins, Shorty, Shirts) and a bit of pottery. I want to try clay sculptures, but I'm a bit apprehensive about it. _________________ Maybe if I wander around long enough I'll find myself...

I dabble in scupley clay based 'sculpture'. I've made this cute little pink bunny but I haven't gotten round to baking him yet, he's just sitting on my desk, melting veeeeerrrrryyyyy slowly! _________________ See a penny, pick it up, all day you'll have a penny! |

Sculpey is WONDERFUL to work with. The cheap stuff is a little nyeh, but try Super Sculpey. It's a dream. _________________

I make hemp bracelets, necklaces, etc. It's fun for me, because I don't even have to think about what my hands are doing any more, I just tie and go. The problem is that I buy way too many beads and never get around to making anything with them.
I have spent some time making light catchers for my windows using glass rocks and the like, but my perfectionism hurt my progress rather than helping it.
I'm learning how to sew. I've made my own pajama pants and am about to try a skirt that I'd wear in public. Here's hoping! *crosses fingers* _________________

Light catchers?
I sometimes do something similar, I have those paints, where you paint straight onto acetate (is that how you spell it?) and then, when it's dry, you peel the picture off and stick it directly on to a window! _________________ See a penny, pick it up, all day you'll have a penny! |

I have a set for that too. We used those glass rocks that are flat on one side, wrapped them in metal and soldered them together. I have a frog and a flower. _________________

Same I usually get around to incorporating them into some kind of project eventually though. _________________

Yeah, I know about 7 different knots that I can tie, and I have a metal tin full of beads. I always roll my eyes in stores when people pay $5.00 for some bracelet that would only cost $1.50 if you made it yourself.
If you desperately wanted some, I could make you some jewelry and we could figure something out. _________________
