A Quick History Lesson

Book One

pages 1-61

Okay class, time to recap! From the start our heroine Charlie Fairfax didn't exactly mesh well with her human peers. That's what happens when you spend more time writing poetry than conforming to mundane mortal life. While her imaginative poems didn't go over well with her teacher she did manage to attract the attention of certain, shall we say, "higher powers".

After getting her poetry snatched by a mysterious shadow thief she soon found herself invited to attend an interview for enrollment at the prestigious Muse Academy. Though her overbearing mother was thrilled Charlie couldn't help but grow suspicious. And who could blame her? She never applied.

Whisked from the world she knew to Prie by the carriage driver Max, she discovered that the academy was in fact a very real place. There Charlie and her mother were greeted by the charismatic dean Callista Peterson. While Mrs. Fairfax waited outside Callista gave Charlie a quick rundown of the school's history. But Charlie didn't buy into anything. There were too many things that just didn't add up. And so, in a reality shattering explanation, the dean revealed to her that her exceptional talents in the literary arts had made her a notable candidate for the academy of mythological beings!

So how do you think our heroine reacted? Was it:
A) with calm composure and acceptance.
B) eagerness and surprise.
or
C) total panic at being left alone with a delusional nutcase.

If you guessed 'C' then congratulations! You're right! I see someone's been doing their homework.

As it turned out, Callista (aka Calliope), had quite a lot of proof to back up her claims. A helpful faculty member who turned out to be none other than the famous Psyche lent a great deal to the dean's credibility—as well as Charlie's hysteria. On a mad dash through the campus halls she encountered a variety of other immortals including a cranky elf. And wouldn't ya know it, the elf girl and shadow thief were one in the same. Mystery solved!

Utilizing the power of the 'puppy dog stare' our heroine managed to coax the elf into explaining the situation a bit more clearly, and without the distraction of muses and other inhuman creatures hovering about. And so our lesson concludes with the mention of the enrollment charm. What significance it plays and the remainder of our heroine's plight are lessons for another day.

Though our heroine originally mistook it for a lyre badge Brigit reveals that it's actually an enchanted item that (when worn) symbolizes that a student is ready

{UPDATE}

pages 62-67

Alright class, take out your pencils and prepare to add some new material to your notes. Chop! Chop!

When we last left off we were discussing the subject of the enrollment charm pinned to Charlie's lapel. Though she originally mistook it for a lyre badge Brigit, the elf girl/shadow thief, revealed that it was actually an enchanted item that (when worn) symbolized that a student was subconsciously prepared to attend the Academy. In fact, every new student received one. Why? Well...

As Brigit put it, the badges serve as icons to the muses-in-training. Once they complete their studies and graduate they receive an emblem which gives them the right to teach. Immortal beings of all sorts attend the school for the honor of becoming a muse. Then they venture out into the world, find a human, and inspire them to be the best artist they possibly can! Thus they duplicate their own talents with their mortal companion.

But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves here. Every story has a beginning and Brigit did such a lovely job of explaining things.

In times ranging as far back as the dawn of history the entities have existed and practiced their crafts in secrecy. Though it was greatly discouraged there were still instances when the immortals and humans interacted. One such occasion led the Muses to adopt a mortal named Sappho as their sister.

When the inevitable finally came to pass the Muses were understandably heartbroken over the loss of dear Sappho. And yet they decided to open themselves up to the world and constructed a school where they could teach their trade to other immortals who in-turn could pass it on to humanity and thus keep the arts alive. It seemed the perfect way to honor Sappho's memory. Some time later they decided to detach the school from Mount Helicon and turn it into a floating island named 'Prie'. This kept the Muses and their students safe from the greedy and self-serving majority of mankind.

Still Calliope realized that it didn't make much sense to commemorate a mortal poet by teaching her trade exclusively to immortal students. And that's when she was struck with a truly novel idea: teach a human to be a muse!

And so, dear pupils, we have come to our heroine's moment of truth. Will Charlie choose to accept the dean's offer to become the first human to ever attend a formerly immortals-only academy? Or will she let this once in a lifetime opportunity pass her by?

I'm afraid those are answers you won't find in the back of your textbook. Until next time—

Oh and—test Friday!!

{UPDATE}

pages 68-83

Well if test grades are to be believed then everyone's doing splendidly with this story arch. Now that we've reached the last section of the Book One lesson may I suggest you pay extra close attention? Things will certainly become more in depth from this point on.

When we last left off, Brigit was in the midst of having a little 'pep talk' with Charlie. Though the elf blandly informed her that she was one lucky mortal to be singled out by the Academy as having both the talent and insight needed to attend our heroine remained reluctant to accept. However, a quick outburst on Brigit's part dispelled any doubts Charlie might have had. It's hard to refuse an offer when you've got a broody immortal shouting in your face and blatantly reminding you that you don't exactly have a 'dream life' to go back to. It's such a shame that their first meeting had to end on such a sour note.

During the rant Charlie did learn a few important facts. One being that the purpose of having her poems 'stolen' was so that Calliope could be sure of her candidacy. The other was the significance of the Immortal's Almanac, a book that contained details on every known mythological species. In the wrong hands it could mean disaster! When Calliope handed a copy to Charlie she was not only proving the validity of the school and its unusual occupants, but showing a rare willingness to trust in her (a mortal's) character.

At last the crucial moment came when Charlie returned to the dean's office to give her final decision. Calliope (along with a few other staff members) had been waiting patiently for her willful return. Though initially spooked by the mystifying immortals Charlie decided to accept the generous offer to join them and thus became the first mortal to attend the one and only Muse Academy!

I hope you're all getting this down.

True to the nature of bad timing, Mrs. Fairfax arrived to ruin the moment with the shrill announcement that 'duty called'. With Charlie's enrollment effective immediately mother and daughter parted in a brief and not so sentimental good-bye. (You might say that Mrs. Fairfax left just as oblivious as when she arrived.) The hasty turn of events left Calliope standing with her newest pupil, clipboard in hand, prepared to complete the enrollment process.

The dean's interest was sparked when Charlie thanked her for sending the 'elf-girl' to talk her out of leaving. After explaining that she gave no such instructions, and musing over the elf's unusual hospitality, Calliope jotted down a quick note and began to better acquaint our heroine with her new school. For the most part the Academy is no different from mortal high schools...save for amplified bullying and the little matter of Charlie's increased vulnerability as a mortal.

But, as every problem must have a solution, Calliope suggested that Miss Fairfax strike up a friendship with the one student who's already shown a measure of amiability toward her.

...small as it may have been.

Those among you who are thorough note takers, or fast to commit key details to memory, should have already guessed the student's identity. And so, dear pupils, you'll find it as no surprise that Charlie now finds herself rooming with—BRIGIT!

'Ecstatic' really doesn't seem to cover their reactions. Perhaps we'll run across a better adjective as we begin our new lesson in Book Two?

Class dismissed.

For further reading you may want to check out the Muse Academy Archive. Study hard for that final exam!!

**

For those of you ready to move on please skip ahead to Book Two.

About the Academy

  • The Muse Academy is an elite private school staffed and attended by a wide range of mythological creatures.

  • It was established by the Muses to teach the arts and train other immortals to inspire humans (in secret), thus becoming muses themselves.

  • Unbeknownst to the human race the school is located on an enchanted island called Prie that hovers above the Earth.

  • The classes offered include: Epic Poetry, Tragedy, Comedy, Romantic Poetry, Astronomy, History, Myth/Sacred Poetry, Music, and Dance. Each course is taught by the corresponding Muse with Calliope serving as both the dean and a teacher.

  • The topics covered by each subject are listed in brief detail as follows:
Epic Poetry: Teaches the long epic poems of adventure and heroism, for example, the Odyssey. Taught by Calliope.
Tragedy: Focuses on the finer points and uses of tragedy in plays, literature, cinema, and the various other artistic outlets. Taught by Melpomene.
Comedy: Much like tragedy it teaches the implementaion of comedy in a wide assortment of art forms and entertainment. Taught by Thalia.
Romantic Poetry: As with the previous two subjects it teaches the art of romance through various forms, especially poetry. Taught by Erato.
Astronomy: Essentially the equivalent of physics, it studies the stars and their meanings and appeals to the more scientifically inclined students. Taught by Urania.
History: Basically the history of immortals (rather than mortals), their evolution, key events, etc. Taught by Clio.
Myth/Sacred Poetry: Similar to social studies, it explores the many myths and religions of the world, teaching what is 'sacred' to different cultures. Taught by Polyhymnia.
Music: The study of music in various art forms: especially through instruments and song. Taught by Euterpe.
Dance: A study of the art of dance, including its many styles, expressive qualities, cultural significance and evolution across time. Taught by Terpsichore. [source]

  • Each student must select a major and minor when they enroll, though some are allowed a trial period before they decide. While it's not unheard of for students to sit in on a few extra classes they usually stick to just the two they've chosen. Of course there are always extenuating circumstances. And clubs! Students can enroll in as many clubs as they like.
    [source]

  • Classes run approximately 1-2 hours in length and contain typical coursework. Though there's a lot of "hands on" assignments as well. Experience is the best teacher. [source]

  • Students attend the Academy for a minimum of four years until they feel prepared to take their skills out into the world, though not all become professional muses after graduation. [source]

  • Much of the Muse Academy's classes and even the building itself was inspired by JJ's college experience. [source]

  • Discipline at the Academy mostly consist of Calliope making unruly students clean out the stables. Though expulsion is never out of the question for those who really push their luck. [source]

  • While students are permitted to take up small jobs (sometimes to earn money but more often for experience, enjoyment, and to contribute to the community) Calliope won't permit anything more as it could interfere with their studies. [source]

  • Since it is a school of the arts, students are encouraged to give their dorm rooms their own personal touch. Designs and furnishings can be as creative and elaborate/modest as they wish. One of the perks of being an immortal is the easy clean-up involved once students move out. With a wave of her hand Calliope can set the dorm back to just the way it was before, ready to be inhabited and redesigned according to the style and whim of the next student. [source]

  • Due to the assorted backgrounds of the students at the Academy, Calliope typically assigns roommates on a trial basis. If all works out they're all settled in their new home away from home. But, in some cases, it becomes necessary for the dean to set certain students apart in rooms to themselves. [source]

About MA Mythology

Fae Folk

  • Faeries are the most complex of all the mythological species, especially the Celtic-born. Wild fae are mischievous and sometimes evil natured beings who prefer to make trouble for mortals. You can spot a faerie by their extra long, pointed ears and their unnaturally colored eyes and/or hair. And duh their WINGS! Faeries also have the widest range of magic of all the Fae Folk, though it can be a little quirky sometimes. A faerie's social rank is determined and displayed by the type of wings they have. Though one can ascend, descend, or ever be exiled from the ranks by the King and Queen who reside in Albion.
  • Elves are the nature lovers of the bunch. More social with other species than the faeries they even resemble humans, save for the pointy ears. A council of appointed members rule over the elves, enforcing the magical laws and training armies to resolve civil conflicts when necessary. The magic they possess reflects their strong ties to nature and a slight tint of color to their skin tone sets them apart from other Fae Folk. Elves are also very family oriented and hold a great respect for their ancestory.
  • Leprechauns & Clurichauns (aka the wee folk of the Emerald Isle) come second only to the faeries when it comes to magic and mischief making. The leps prefer bright, open spaces and tend to blend in with their surroundings by wearing natural, meadow-like tones. They can range in appearance when it comes to the color of their eyes and hair but their pointy tipped ears act much like a fae's in that they help convey their emotions. Imagine a leprechaun and you think of a foot-high miser protecting his pot of gold. Well there's a lot of misconceptions there. For one leprechauns are typically about as tall as a human and only revert to their shorter form when pride takes a backseat to necessity. And leps have A LOT of pride. Snooty, stingy, and extravagantly dressed they fancy themselves the upper crust of society. There are, however, a few 'bad apples' among the bunch. Clurichauns are a sub-species of leprechaun that are prone to bad habits and downright irresponsible behavior. They're a bit darker in appearance than their leprechaun cousins, which comes in handy when they skulk about in the shadows often times leading lives of crime. Clurichauns don't really care much for the other species though they do hold the leps in high regard for their wealth and status. Magically speaking leprechauns are rather limited. Although what they can do they do exceptionally well, from shrinking down to manipulating luck and casting illusions. Their rivalry with faeries is a well known curiosity within the magical world. Though with the potential the two species possess one has to wonder if it's safer to keep them at odds.

Angels

  • Loyal, sweet, and ever so helpful an angel is the ideal friend...and an easy pushover. Generally well-liked by humans and the other immortals they do sometimes clash with the notoriously mean-spirited faeries. Angel wings come in a variety of shapes, colors, and sizes and often reflect their personality. For an angel to cast a spell there must first be a genuine need for it. Willpower alone is not enough. Masters of defensive and healing magic they only use their powers offensively when absolutely necessary.

Amalgams

  • Satyrs are easily distinguished by their goat legs and horns. Their upper halves are mostly humanoid, save for the furry ears. Female satyrs are pretty rare (as with female leprechauns) and thus gain a lot of respect and popularity within their species.
  • Centaurs are similar to satyrs though they have the four-legged lower halves of horses and lack horns. Strong, sturdy, and built for running they've become well-known, romanticized figures in human lore.
  • Sirens originate from the infamous Bermuda Triangle where their songs have lured many a sailor to meet their doom upon the rocks. Wings are an easy way to identify a siren, though they slide into the body when not in use, disappearing back under their arms and sides. Miss those and you might notice that from their knees down they sport the legs and talons of a bird of prey. Other than that, they could easily be mistaken for a normal human...until it was too late.
  • Merfolk are a mysterious, aquatic race of mythical creatures that dwell in vast bodies of water be it salty or fresh. While they do possess the fish tail of lore their top halves are a combination of both fish and human features. Merfolk tend to keep to their own kind, even moreso than the faes, and most are rumored to have migrated to the underwater metropolis of Atlantis. The appearance of a merman/mermaid can vary depending on the waters they originated from. One important factor of their coloring and design is that it allows them to effectively blend in with their environment, however simplistic or vibrant it may be.

Other

  • To put it simply, deities are the guardians of Earth and all things within it. Though over the centuries they've been reduced to mere figures of myth and legend they have continued their craft in secrecy. Deities dwell throughout the world but the magically-cloaked realm of Mount Olympus will always call to those who originated there. Entirely devoted to upholding their craft each deity has a specific duty they must protect and help prosper (ie a deity's work is never done).
  • Sorcerers are beings who wield magic when they wouldn't normally be able to. A good example would be mortal witches. They can gain magical abilities by either getting blessed by a deity for some good deed, or by stealing it. A sorcerer who steals magic from other beings is known as a Leech. Leeches usually hide out in mortal habitats and only venture into the mythical realms when searching for a host. Needless to say the beings there are never glad to see them. A sorcerer's wand is used to store and concentrate magic to enhance its accuracy. A Leech will either discard or keep its host prisoner once their wand becomes full. Keeping a host captive requires an enchanted container and plenty of nectar (which allows them to use them as rechargeable batteries—for magic). Wands of various magic levels can be sold on the black market by shady fae out for material gain.

About the Immortal Realms

Prie

  • An enchanted island that was separated from the rest of the world and set to hover above it when the Muses decided to break away from tradition and create their own school of the arts.
  • Many residents there reside in Prie Village (or one of the college dormitories), it also gives the students a place to go when class isn't in session.
  • Prie has everything an immortal could want: safe location, clean water, a good school, a lush forest, and an array of shops and restaurants.

Albion

  • An enchanted land kept safely hidden from mortal eyes.
  • Ruled over by the faerie king and queen, Oberon and Titania.
  • While it's primarily home to faeries you can also find an assortment of endangered mythological creatures under the faes' protection.
  • If you're dying to reach Albion you'll have to rely on will and wishes rather than roadmaps and signs. The only other means would be a magical guide. (And no, this Guide Fey's not givin' any tours.)
  • Be careful when/if you get there. The locals are pretty xenophobic and prone to mischief.

Irish Hills

  • Home of the Celtic Myths and all the creatures within them.
  • The beings live in a multitude of secluded villages and other dwellings.
  • They're the ones who prefer the light and open spaces as to the dark underground realm of Sidhe.
  • Masters of disguise they use their magical abilities to live alongside mortals.

Sidhe

  • A dank, dull and gloomy immortal realm located under the hills of the Emerald Isle.
  • Home to the most reclusive and shifty mythical creatures this side of the Atlantic.
  • The only thing worse than the high crime rate is the amount of supernatural beasts that roam the shadows there.
  • Illusionary magic is common there and most species use it to frighten and prank those they dislike and/or fear.
  • But be you brave or foolish venturing into Sidhe will definitely give you plenty of spooky stories to tell when you get home.

Atlantis

  • The legendary aquatic kingdom of the merfolk.
  • Not much is known about this mythical realm due to the mysterious nature in which its inhabitants secretly travel to and fro in the dead of night.
  • Some things should remain undiscovered and Atlantis is certainly among them. For the good of its people the kingdom's location must remain a secret.

Arcadia

  • A scenic Grecian forest with a variety of rural mythical creatures, and the birthplace of many gods.
  • But beware, it's also home to a dangerous assortment of monsters.

Aiaia

  • Though it isn't known for sure if the island is more of truth or fiction it is said to be the dwelling place of a mysterious group of mythical creatures.
  • Search for it at your own risk, many have tried to discover it's location, none have returned—ever again.

About the Laws of Magic

Some rules are made to be broken. But you'd be hard-pressed to find an exception here. Magic users must follow these guidelines or face the consequences.

  • No abusing magic by using it to hunt/kill another being. Period. To kill a mortal with hostile magic would almost certainly result in exile.
  • Don't sell magic for material gain. It's a privilege not a franchise folks.
  • Alcohol and magic does NOT mix. Mythical creatures should avoid alcohol consumption for their own safety.
  • It is forbidden to use magic to permanently influence the thoughts and feelings of others. (That's a job for the advertising industry.)
  • For safety reasons, mythical creatures and mortals shouldn't fraternize.
  • Dragonhide, iron, and moly are considered to be very dangerous substances (if you're of the magical-variety) and should be reported to the authorities immediately if found. No ifs, ands, or buts!
  • Mutinous behavior, be it directed toward the monarchs or other authority figures, is punishable by exile. So fall in line!

Charlie

Bio:

Full name: Charlotte Fairfax, but don't call her that. Charlie's an average 16 year old girl from Pennsylvania who doesn't quite fit in with her boring, unimaginative peers. She's become somewhat of a wallflower who does her best to blend in and hide her poetic talent. Her artistic abilities have made her the 'black sheep' of her well-to-do family. An invitation to join an elite private school, the Muse Academy, may be just the change she needs...if she doesn't freak out first. [more info]

The Basics:

  • Alias: Charlotte Fairfax
  • Age: 16
  • DOB: July 3rd
  • Race: Mortal (Human)
  • Marital Status: Single
  • Residence: Pennsylvania, USA
  • Occupation: Student
  • First Appearance: #01. Enrolment

Bonus Facts:

  • As you might've noticed, she's morbidly embarrassed by her mother. Who wouldn't be? [source]
  • She's got a stuffed unicorn.
  • Check her room and you'll notice she collects fantasy memorabilia. [source]
  • Charlie tends to butt heads with a particular professor over everything from inciting a rebellion with out-of-place poetry to violating the dress code by wearing a beret. [source1], [source2], and [source3]

Brigit

Bio:

A broody elf and avid non-conformist, Brigit prefers to stick to her studies and live the life of a campus loner. She majors in Tragedy (big surprise) and minors in Astronomy. Brij has little tolerancy for ditzy, prissy people or anyone who gets to sail through life when everyone else is busy working. She does take pity on Charlie because she's the only human in a previously immortals-only school. It doesn't hurt that it makes the kid unique, which is a quality Brigit actually likes. The blunt voice of reason, Brij often plays the role of keeping her more eccentric peers grounded when schemes get too outlandish or risky. [more info]

The Basics:

  • Alias: Brij, Little Miss Anarchy, 'The Shadow'
  • Age: Immortal (i.e. psch, no tellin')
  • DOB: January 12th
  • Race: Elf
  • Marital Status: Celibate
  • Residence: The Muse Academy, Theseus Wing
  • Occupation: Student
  • Major: Tragedy
  • Minor: Astronomy
  • First Appearance: #01. Enrolment

Bonus Facts:

  • Being an elf Brigit comes from a big family and has A LOT of siblings.
  • She had to work extra hard to get into the Academy and doesn't think she can afford to 'lighten up' even if she wanted to.
  • Despite her gloomy disposition Brij has a good heart and has been known to show it on occasion. [source1] and [source2]
  • Though she goes out of her way to be an individual she's still a stereotypical broody, Gothic, non-conformist. Gotta love irony.
  • They say artists are a bit eccentric, Brigit's no exception. She's totally into the weird and unusual.
  • Brij is one elf who simply cannot stand popular, prissy girls. Giggling ditzes make her retch.
  • She's somewhat abrasive, rude, and even vain at times. Hey, every girl has her flaws.
  • Yes even Brigit has a sense of humor. Though it often comes out in the form of dry wit and sarcasm. [source]
  • Though she started off stealing Charlie's poems for Calliope, Brij eventually becomes Charlie's first Academy friend.
  • Brigit's last name is Zephyren.

Calliope

Bio:

As the Muse of Epic Poetry and dean of the Muse Academy Calliope often has her hands full teaching and running the school. She has eight sisters/co-workers to help her educate the students in the various fields of the arts though working with family can be pretty trying at times. A beautiful, calm, sophisticated woman she takes great pride in the Academy and is understandably protective of it and the many magical beings that attend school there. Tough but fair, the Olympian tries to see to it that all students are given equal opportunities to learn, succeed, and inspire! [more info]

The Basics:

  • Alias: Callista Olive Peterson
  • Age: Immortal
  • Race: Muse/Olympian
  • Marital Status: Single
  • Residence: Prie/Olympus
  • Occupation: Muse of Epic Poetry & Dean of the Muse Academy
  • First Appearance: #01. Enrolment

Bonus Facts:

  • The Muse Academy is essentially Calliope's brainchild.
  • Despite its success she still yearns to educate a mortal in the art of being a muse.
  • Calliope's the perfect blend of visionary and level-headed thinker. She's got the brains to make her dreams a reality.
  • Regardless of how much potential she sees in a student Calliope is still avid about letting them make their own choices.
  • She's open to letting her students explore their interests and find what best suits their skills and preferences. After all, a good muse should love his/her trade so much that it hardly seems like work at all.
  • Resourceful and cunning she can be quite inventive when it comes to teaching the students valuable lessons about life (like humility, friendship, and prioritizing).
  • Calliope has a very intuitive nature that comes in handy at the Academy.
  • She loves books and has a rather impressive private collection in her office. [source]

Erato

Bio:

The well-liked Muse who teaches Romantic Poetry at the Muse Academy. She's ditsy but sweet and completely optimistic, believing each and every student has the ability to succeed. Ah well, that's to expected with opposites. [more info]

Ted

Bio:

Cranky old Ted is the centaurian security guard at the Muse Academy. When trouble starts he's always got a suspect in mind, whether or not they're actually guilty is anyone's guess. Mrs. Fairfax

Bio:

A snooty business woman who's bent on making her children the cream of the crop. Charlie's mother doesn't seem to understand her daughter's free spirited nature or love of poetry. She'd rather mold her into the next CEO of a major cooperation. Or something more acceptable than a 'lowly artist'. Charles Jr. and Carlotta Jr. aren't nearly as disappointing as her middle child. Perhaps if she spent less time in the office and more time nuturing her children she'd discover there's more to life than work and social standing? The good news is she's positively thrilled when Charlotte—err—Charlie receives an invitation to travel to the Muse Academy for an interview. The chance that her daughter could end up enrolled in an upper class private school with the height of society is more than enough to send the overbearing mother packing for the trip. Never mind that she's never even heard of the place... [more info]

The Basics:

  • Alias: Carlotta Fairfax Sr.
  • Age: 44
  • DOB: March 11th
  • Race: Mortal (Human)
  • Marital Status: Married
  • Residence: Pennsylvania, USA
  • Occupation: Businesswoman
  • First Appearance: #01. Enrolment

Bonus Facts:

  • Her husband's job keeps him away in Paris for most of the year making her somewhat of a single mother. [source]
  • She's a woman of expensive tastes and high profile living. And darn proud of it too.
  • In her mind success is measured by who you know, what you do, and how envied you are. Thus everything she has, especially her children, simply must be the very best. [source]
  • Her need to impress sometimes leaves her at a loss when conversing with genuinely sophisticated and non-materialistic people (ex: around Calliope she's completely out of her element). [source]

Charles Jr.

Bio:

He's a chip off the ol' block. And a bit of brown-noser when it comes to his mother. Charles appears to delight in teasing his younger sister and takes pleasure in her misfortune. He knows Charlie's a bit of a misfit compared to himself and little Carlotta Jr. and he certainly doesn't mind rubbing that in. His underhanded tactics are sure to make him a superb businessman but I'd hate to be in his shoes when Karma comes calling. [more info]

The Basics:

  • Alias: Charles Fairfax Jr.
  • Age: 17
  • DOB: January 21st
  • Race: Mortal (Human)
  • Marital Status: Single
  • Residence: Pennsylvania, USA
  • Occupation: Student, Intern at a City-Based Communications Company
  • First Appearance: #01. Enrolment

Bonus Facts:

  • He's got a lot to live up to if he wants to come out of his father's shadow and establish himself as a successful, self-made man. [source]
  • Charles Jr. looks and acts much older than his age. Probably due to his parent's influence/pressure...and plain old snobbery.
  • Can you say "instigator"? [source1] and [source2]
  • He's more or less a bully who needs to check his priorities and stop taking his family for granted. [source]
  • In his father's absence Charles Jr. is essentially the man of the house. Scary thought right? [source]
